Nefsis Launches Next-Generation, Software-Based VoIP Audio Engine for Business-to-Business Video Conferencing via the Cloud

VoIP engine provides full-duplex, multi-party audio to support several speakers at the same time, delivers enhanced echo cancellation and noise reduction

SAN DIEGO — June 22, 2011 — Online services innovator Nefsis® announced today its new software-based VoIP engine with full-duplex, multiparty audio. As part of its HD video conferencing cloud, the enhanced VoIP engine enables multiple participants to speak at the same time, and offers improved acoustic echo cancellation support for laptops and better noise cancellation for superior audio performance during online video meetings. Yielding high-quality audio with hands-free webcam microphones, Nefsis also has automatic half-duplex echo cancellation failovers in place when full duplex is not available.

The new VoIP engine also handles different latency times among multiple participants and packet delay variations, the latter often referred to as jitter, improving the quality of multiparty conferences with different connections. This is increasingly important across a dispersed workforce or customer base that may have different networking environments, such as a low-latency wireline corporate connections, wireless home office or high-latency international connections.

Delivering multipoint HD video conferencing to desktops and boardrooms, Nefsis’ VoIP audio engine supports audio inputs from conference room equipment, such as ClearOne, Phoenix Audio Technologies, Revo Labs and Yamaha. Nefsis can also be delivered across PCs in a multipurpose conference room setting to facilitate large, productive meetings without requiring expensive, single-purpose telepresence installations.

“Most online service providers use simplex audio for three or more parties, which imposes unnatural limitations as parties wait to speak one at a time,” said Allen Drennan, Nefsis Chief Technology Officer. “Eliminating this concern, Nefsis’ advanced VoIP engine ensures a superior, high-quality audio experience, regardless of network connection or number of participants speaking in a conference. Combined with Nefsis’ support for traditional telephone conferencing, participants can select multiple, reliable audio options to ensure a superior video conferencing experience that meets their organization’s unique needs.”

The Nefsis video conferencing cloud provides all the resources necessary for multipoint HD video mixing; firewall and proxy traversal for desktops; advanced collaboration tools for productive meetings; and network diagnostics for bandwidth, latency and routing testing. Nefsis VoIP, video, and data connections use SSL/TLS encryption for secure online meeting sessions.

Nefsis’ advanced VoIP engine was released in its most recent cloud update and is available now to all Nefsis Professional subscribers and trial users. For a free 14-day trial of Nefsis Professional, visit www.Nefsis.com.
