We have a number of users with dedicated rooms. I would like to be able to save a link to each of these rooms in the contact list so that when I go to join an existing meeting, I can join the meeting without needing to manually enter in the conference ID or hit a link. Seems like a pretty obvious feature to have a Meeting Room ID field in the contacts list. Am I missing something?

You can use the contacts list to enter a conference by selecting the Start tab, enter in the ID of the room you wish to join, enter in password if needed then select the 'Join now' button.
