Any advice on lower cost HD setup option.

For example using a consumer grade HD camera

This is possible, but depends a lot on what you deem acceptable "HD quality." Some Logitech webcams offer 1080p (1920x1080) capture, but the camera and USB connection are only capable of low framerates (anything from 3fps to 2 seconds per frame) at this resolution. We have heard of some customers using "HD capable" camcorders connected to a dedicated capture card with varying degrees of success. The video capture logic in our software is fully capable of handling a 1080p video stream.

The configuration we recommend on our website is one that we have tested and proven. At this time we do do not have any alternative configurations that we can safely recommend to customers.

We plan to test the LifeCam Cinema as we have heard of customers having both good and bad experiences with it in Nefsis. I'm glad its working properly for you Jay. Please let us know if you encounter any problems.
